Challenge

The client has long championed female leadership. With a history of female representation at the senior-most levels since the organization’s founding, their commitment to developing women starts at the top. While they had successfully established a robust women’s leadership initiative, they identified a critical gap in communication skills. They sought a partner who could deliver a scalable solution that would enhance their existing women’s leadership initiatives and easily reach hundreds of women leaders working in locations around the world.

Solution

After a comprehensive search, the client determined The Humphrey Group’s Taking the Stage®  Enterprise Learning Experience was the perfect complement to their broader women’s leadership initiative. Taking the Stage® provided a purpose-built space for women to develop their leadership communication skills while also enabling them to leverage the expertise and experience of their existing women leaders by giving them the skills to become internal facilitators. We conducted train-the-trainer programs in San Francisco, New York, London, and Hong Kong, equipping 60 women leaders with the skills to facilitate Taking the Stage®. This licensing approach created an easy and affordable way to scale the learning throughout their globally dispersed team.

Success

Launched in 2017, and still running today, nearly 500 of their women leaders have participated in Taking the Stage®  and the organization is seeing measurable results. As of 2022, 32.5% of their senior leaders were women, up 1.3% over the previous year. The company has also garnered recognition for its commitment to gender equality, earning accolades such as inclusion in Bloomberg’s Gender Equality Index, America’s more JUST companies by CNBC, listed as one of the top 100 most diverse and inclusive organizations on Redinitiv’s Diversity and Inclusion Index, and received an Eruboshi 3-star certification in Japan. These achievements underscore their dedication to building a sustainable pipeline of skilled women leaders and Taking the Stage® has proven essential in equipping these leaders with the communication tools necessary to thrive and advance within the organization.
